Loudonville Native Leads Medical Team at UH Kettering

Michael Bitner, a certified family nurse practitioner, is the primary care provider at UH Kettering StatCare, a new walk-in clinic located at UH Kettering Health Center at 546 North Union Street in Loudonville. UH Kettering StatCare is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A 1997 Loudonville High School graduate, Bitner is looking forward to providing care in his hometown. With ancillary services such as lab and x-ray available at UH Kettering, Bitner will be able to diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries at StatCare.

Bitner’s career path to the medical field started when he became a volunteer firefighter while living in Alaska. He thoroughly enjoyed his volunteer work and became a full time EMT.

Following the birth of his first child in 2008, Bitner and wife Marcia returned to Loudonville. That’s when Bitner began taking classes that would eventually lead to a Master’s degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Illinois.

“My family has been serving the Loudonville community for a long time, and I’m looking forward to continuing the tradition,” Bitner explained. “My grandparents owned Lingenfelter Jewelers in downtown Loudonville and I grew up helping my grandma change the flower pots throughout the city.”

Bitner’s wife is also a nurse and runs a cardiac rehab and stress lab in Millersburg. The couple’s four children – Emlyn, Ruth, Charlotte and Henry – range in age from 10 to 3 ½. They own a 20 acre tree farm in Loudonville. In addition to maintaining the tree farm, Bitner enjoys woodworking and any outdoor activity.
