Cardiac Rehabilitation is prescribed for people who have had a heart attack; angioplasty with stent; CABG; valve repair or replacement; stable angina; heart transplant; or a heart and lung transplant. The exercise program meets two - three times a week for a total of 10 - 15 weeks. Besides the exercise prescribed, education on coronary artery disease, cholesterol, and diet changes are discussed. Other topics include stress reduction, smoking cessation and weight reduction on an individual basis.
